5 euro Slovakia 2024 - Zubor maned

The National Bank of Slovakia issued a commemorative €5 coin featuring the European bison as part of the “Fauna and Flora in Slovakia” series. The coin depicts the European bison, an endangered species, and its design was created by academic sculptor Branislav Ronai. The obverse of the coin bears Slovakia's coat of arms, the inscription “SLOVENSKO”, the denomination “5 EURO” and the year of issue “2024”. It is made from bimetallic material, with an inner section of copper and nickel and an outer ring of brass. The NBS will issue a limited number of these coins, which will be available to numismatists and the public. Through this issue, the NBS highlights the importance of protecting endangered species and nature and recalls the significance of the European bison in Slovakia's natural environment.
