The Slovakia €100 Gold Collector Coin 2026 “500th Anniversary of the Battle of Mohács” commemorates the historic battle of 1526, in which the Hungarian forces were defeated by the army of the Ottoman Empire. The issue reflects the clash of two major powers and an event that had a profound impact on the subsequent history of the Kingdom of Hungary and Central Europe.
The design by Mária Poldaufová features portraits of Sultan Suleiman I and King Louis II of Hungary, complemented by representations of the opposing armies. The coin is struck by the Kremnica Mint in Proof quality from gold with a fineness of 900/1000.
