The 2024 Italy €2 coin “Rita Levi-Montalcini – Nobel Laureate in Physiology or Medicine” is issued in BU quality and supplied in an official card. Rita Levi-Montalcini (1909–2012) received the Nobel Prize jointly with Stanley Cohen in 1986 for the discovery of nerve growth factor (NGF), advancing knowledge of nerve development and regeneration. She became a symbol of scientific excellence and support for women in science and later also served as a senator for life in Italy.
