In 2011, Slovakia issued a 2-euro coin in honour of the 20th anniversary of the establishment of the Visegrád Group, an important regional alliance between Slovakia, the Czech Republic, Hungary and Poland. The group was created to strengthen cooperation in the fields of politics, the economy and culture. The BU-quality coin, issued in a commemorative card, captures the symbolism of this important partnership, which plays a significant role in Central European politics.
