The Zwinger in Dresden is one of Europe's most important Baroque buildings and a symbol of German cultural heritage. Built in the 18th century, it served as a venue for royal festivities and today houses important art and scientific collections. In 2016, Germany issued a €2 commemorative coin dedicated to Saarland. The coin is part of a proof set containing five coins bearing the marks of all five German mints: A, D, F, G and J.
