Bremen Town Hall and the Statue of Roland, included on the UNESCO World Heritage List, symbolise medieval municipal rights and the independence of German cities. The Gothic town hall is a magnificent example of 15th-century architecture, while the statue of Roland represents urban freedom. In 2010, Germany issued a series of €2 coins commemorating this historic theme. The series consists of five proof-quality coins, each bearing one of the mint marks A, D, F, G and J.
