St Michael's Church in Hamburg, known as the “Michel”, is one of the most important Baroque buildings in northern Germany. With its iconic copper dome and tall bell tower, it is a symbol of the city of Hamburg. In 2008, this monument was depicted on a German €2 commemorative coin. The coin forms part of a five-coin proof-quality series bearing the mint marks A, D, F, G and J.
