François Joseph Bosio was an important French sculptor born in Monaco in 1768. He became famous for works created for Napoleon Bonaparte, including the celebrated statue on Place Vendôme in Paris. Bosio also served as court sculptor to Louis XVIII and Charles X, and his work had a significant influence on 19th-century French art.
