In 2007, Ireland issued an official proof set of euro coins containing the complete annual series and the commemorative Treaty of Rome €2 coin. The set commemorated the 50th anniversary of the signing of the treaty and the historic beginning of European integration. The Treaty of Rome coin in proof quality was available exclusively in this set and was not issued separately. The set was supplied in representative packaging with a certificate of authenticity.
