2 euro Greece 2019 - PROOF set (includes 2€ Andronicos and Kalvos)

For the time being, 2019 was the last year in which the Bank of Greece decided to issue its commemorative 2-euro coins in proof quality only as part of a set. However, it reduced the mintage to only 1,500 pieces, making the set a genuinely sought-after collectible. It contains the commemorative 2-euro coins marking the 150th anniversary of the death of Andreas Kalvos and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Manolis Andronicos. Andreas Kalvos was an important Greek poet who became famous for his patriotic poems. The second coin celebrates the 100th anniversary of the birth of the archaeologist Manolis Andronicos, whose discoveries contributed to knowledge of ancient Greece.
