2 euro Greece 2018 - PROOF set (includes 2€ Dodecanese and Kostis Palamas)

In 2018, the Bank of Greece once again issued its commemorative 2-euro coins in proof quality only as part of sets. The coins marking the 70th anniversary of the union of the Dodecanese with Greece and the 75th anniversary of the death of Kostis Palamas can therefore be obtained in the highest minting quality only through this set. Greece also reduced the number of pieces issued in 2018, this time to 2,000.

The 70th anniversary of the union of the Dodecanese with Greece refers to 1947, when the island region joined the Greek state. The second coin celebrates the 75th anniversary of the death of Kostis Palamas, an important Greek poet whose work had a strong influence on modern Greek language and literature.
