The Estonian €2 coin from 2016 was issued to mark the 100th anniversary of the birth of Paul Keres, a world-renowned chess grandmaster and one of the greatest figures in Estonian sport. The issue recalls his rich career, during which he ranked among the absolute elite of world chess for decades and gained recognition for his exceptional talent, strategy and gentlemanly approach to the game.
