Grand Duke William II played a key role in Luxembourg’s history when he approved the country’s first liberal constitution in 1848. His reign brought stronger civil rights and modernisation of the state system. To mark the 175th anniversary of his death, a special €2 coin was issued in tribute to his historic legacy.
The coin in BU quality is available in a card bearing the “horn” and “square” mint marks.
