The Slovakia €10 Silver Collector Coin 2024 “100th Anniversary of the Birth of Ján Chryzostom Korec” is dedicated to one of the most important figures of Slovak church life in the 20th century. Ján Chryzostom Korec was active in the underground Church during the communist regime, was secretly ordained as both a priest and a bishop, and was imprisoned for his religious activities. In 1991, he was made a cardinal.
The reverse of the coin features a portrait of Cardinal Korec. The obverse depicts hands joined in prayer holding a rosary, an open book, a cross with a crown of thorns, and his episcopal motto “UT OMNES UNUM SINT”. The coin was struck in Proof quality from silver with a fineness of 900/1000.
